SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY & ADVOCACY: HOW TO BE A SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIOR
In my role as a outspoken advocate for social justice using social media as my primary platform for advocacy and change, I often get asked by people how they can help or what they can do to fight for change like me. The short answer is that you don’t have to be like me. Not at all! I encourage everyone to operate in their Spheres of influence using a process I call L.E.A.D. In this session, I’ll give you a four-step process for how you can become an advocate for change and making the world a better place in your own way that feels natural and authentic to you.
I’M NOT YELLING: THE POWER OF YOUR AUTHENTIC VOICE
Have you ever been in a meeting and wanted to get your point across, but first had to check yourself to see if your tone would be perceived as too aggressive? Women, and particularly Black women, have been taught that we need to be aware of the tone of how we speak, what we say, and how we say it as we navigate professional spaces. This can lead to us doubting our abilities and not performing up to our highest potential. This conversation is about women harnessing the power of their voices and stepping into their authentic truth. You cannot be successful until you embrace who you really are and step into each space confidentially with everything you have to offer.
